Aeolus Vocal Trio
[ OVERVIEW ]
We are the Aeolus Vocal Trio: three classical singers who create site-specific theater performances using our voices and bodies, in compositions ranging from baroque to contemporary. We also create our own vocal and physical compositions, which we prefer to compose in real time, i.e. during the performance, in the moment. Our performances are based on the unique method Musicality of Movement (developed by Virág Dezső, artistic director of MAPA Theater).
The trio consists of mezzo-sopranos Femke Hulsman and Stefanie Bruggeling, who studied at the Dutch National Opera Academy. Soprano Madeline Saputra will obtain her master’s degree from the Conservatory of Amsterdam in June. Individually, they have performed at the Concertgebouw, DNO, Theater Kikker, Amare, O. Festival, Holland Festival, Podium Klassiek and Radio NPO4.

About the Artists

Shelén Hughes Camacho
Shelén Hughes Camacho is a Bolivian soprano and graduate of The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music. A winner of the 2025 George & Nora London Foundation Competition and the 2024 Opera Index Competition. She has appeared with Opera Saratoga, Oper Frankfurt, The Cleveland Orchestra, and the Vienna Volksoper.
Her performance career spans major international stages, and she is the founder of Voices for Bolivia, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting elderly individuals living in extreme poverty.

Joseph Parrish
Joseph Parrish is a baritone and winner of the 2022 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions. Praised for his “commanding presence, vocal warmth, and expressive depth,” he holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati College–Conservatory of Music and The Juilliard School.
Recent appearances include solo performances at Carnegie Hall with the Oratorio Society of New York, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with The Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Caramoor, and recital debuts at Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Hall and the Kennedy Center. His operatic roles include Masetto in Don Giovanni with Cincinnati Opera and Potapitsch in Prokofiev’s The Gambler at the Salzburg Festival.
